This platform is an initiative of Silex Labs, a non profit organization, which aims to bring together and unite people around open and free community projects.

The projects you’ll find here usually have an independent showcase website, and use this platform as a collaborative tool.

From a user perspective, it’s easy to sign in – eventually use an existing google, twitter or facebook account. You can then follow community activities, and hopefully contribute. It’s possible to  subscribe and be notified of whatever is important to you, such as a particular discussion group, forum or blog…

Since Silex Labs is french, most of these projects have been started by french people, organizations or companies, but they have reached an international audience and are driven by people of different countries.
